The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has unveiled a 156-member campaign council headed by Governor Dapo Abiodun, with former governors Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun drafted into the party’s campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 elections.
Under the structure released by the Ogun APC on Tuesday, Abiodun will serve as Chairman of the Campaign Council, while the party’s governorship candidate and Senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, will serve as Co-Chairman.
Former Senator representing Ogun East, Lekan Mustapha, was named Director-General of the campaign.
Former governor and APC national leader, Chief Olusegun Osoba, will serve as Grand Patron, while former governors Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun were appointed Deputy Grand Patrons.
The campaign council also includes Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele and APC Deputy Governorship candidate, Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, who will serve as Deputy Chairmen.
The state APC Chairman, Yemi Sanusi, was named Vice Chairman, while Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, and Minister of State for Health, Kunle Salako, will serve as Vice Director-General, Campaign Operations, and Vice Director-General, Administration, respectively.
Sanusi said the campaign council was carefully constituted to bring together party leaders, political stakeholders and other key members of the APC for effective mobilisation ahead of the elections.
According to him, the council will coordinate grassroots mobilisation, media and publicity, logistics, political contacts, youth and women engagement, as well as other areas critical to the party’s electoral campaign.
He said the various committees would strengthen the APC’s structures and ensure effective coordination across the state’s 20 local government areas.
Sanusi urged members of the campaign council to put aside individual interests and work collectively to secure what he described as an overwhelming victory for the APC in the 2027 presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.
“The members of the various committees are therefore urged to work collectively towards securing an overwhelming victory for the APC in the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections,” he said.
The unveiling of the campaign structure marks a major step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections as the party moves to consolidate its political structures and intensify grassroots mobilisation across Ogun State.
The involvement of former governors and influential party leaders is also expected to add political weight to the APC’s campaign as the party seeks to maintain its dominance in the state in the 2027 elections.
