The Oyo State chapter of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) has begun mobilising its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general election, as the party’s women leaders across the 33 local government areas and 351 wards paid a courtesy visit to a party leader, Alhaji Adebisi Aremu Olopoeyan, in Ibadan.
The delegation, led by the Oyo State APM Women Leader, Mrs Adenike Abosede Adekunle, said the visit was to appreciate Olopoeyan for his leadership and reaffirm their loyalty to him and the party.
Olopoeyan, a leader of the APM in Oyo State, is widely known as a grassroots politician.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Adekunle said the women leaders believed in Olopoeyan’s leadership and guidance as the party prepared for the coming local government elections and the 2027 general election.
“Our visit is like that of daughters to their father. We value your leadership, guidance and the pivotal role you have played, which has led to the quick acceptance of our party, the APM, in all the nooks and crannies of Oyo State,” she said.
She prayed for good health and long life for the politician, adding that the women leaders were confident that the party could perform strongly in future elections with the support of its leaders.
“We cherish your leadership and want you, in conjunction with other leaders in our party, to get set for the coming local government election and the 2027 general election.
“We are sure that with your support, our party will do well in all elections coming up in 2027,” she added.
Olopoeyan, while receiving the delegation, thanked the women leaders for the visit, describing their support and loyalty as encouraging.
He prayed for the party’s success in the forthcoming local government elections and the 2027 general election, expressing optimism that the APM would perform strongly in the contests.
