In a gruesome incident in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, unidentified individuals have brutally murdered a young lady, leaving her lifeless body wrapped in a white bed sheet and discarded on a refuse dump at Iorapuu Adai street, Nyiman layout, Makurdi.
According to police sources, the circumstances surrounding the lady’s death remain unclear, but suspicions arise that the incident may be linked to a yet-to-be-identified hotel. The police revealed that there were no visible signs of violence on the victim’s body, with no marks, wounds, or blood observed.
“We got information that a young lady was killed and her body was seen. We don’t know what happened, and we didn’t see any trace of violence on her body; no marks, no wound or blood,” stated a police source. “They just tied her body in a white bed sheet, put her in a sack and dumped her at a dump site at Nyiman layout of Makurdi.”
The police are actively investigating the case to unravel the circumstances leading to the lady’s death. The suspicion that she may have died in a hotel arises from the appearance of the bed sheet used to wrap her body.
The lifeless body of the lady has been removed and deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Makurdi.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Benue State command, SP Sewuese Anene, confirmed the incident, stating, “For now, there is no information yet, but we believe we will get detail, dig into it and find out what actually happened.”
Residents discovered the victim’s body at a refuse site in the Nyiman area of Makurdi, leading to the police being alerted to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing to ascertain the motive and circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
