Unlocking a Triumphant Life in Old Age, Pst. (Mrs.) Roseline Fayomi

As we navigate life’s journey, the question of how our golden years will unfold weighs on our minds. Will we look back with pride or regret? Pst. (Mrs.) Roseline Fayomi, wife of the pastor in charge of Faith Chapel Zone, offers a profound answer.

At the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) FCT Province 7 Sister’s Convention in Abuja, convened by Pastor Mrs. Moyomola Okemuyiwa, wife of the Pastor in charge of the Province, she shared her insights on living a triumphant life in old age, defining it as a life rich in purpose, joy, and contentment, not just success.

Drawing from Psalm 90:6, she highlighted the three stages of life – morning, noon, and evening – emphasizing the importance of reflection and wise decisions in the “evening” of life, when the sun begins to set.

Her seminar, “Living a Triumphant Life in Old Age,” inspired the audience to make the most of their later years and embrace a life of purpose, joy, and triumph.

Speaking on Keys to a Triumphant Life in Old Age,she highlighted: Cultivate Gratitude: “Focus on the blessings in your life, no matter how small they may seem,” Mrs. Fayomi advised. Practicing gratitude daily can bring joy in the simplest things.

Embrace Your Legacy: Reflect on the impact you’ve made on others and the world around you. Celebrate your accomplishments and know that your life has made a difference.

Nurture Meaningful Relationships: Surround yourself with loved ones who bring joy and support. Invest in those relationships and cherish the time you have with them.

Prioritize Physical and Mental Well-being: Engage in activities that promote health and happiness. Stay active, eat well, and challenge your mind to stay sharp.

Find Purpose and Meaning: Engage in activities that bring joy and fulfillment. Whether it’s volunteering, hobbies, or mentoring others, find what drives you and pursue it with passion.

Embrace Your Story: Share your experiences, wisdom, and lessons learned with others. Your story is unique and valuable and can inspire and encourage others.

Practice Self-care: Take care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being by getting enough rest, eating well, and engaging in activities that bring you joy.

Stay Connected with Others: Maintain social connections and build new relationships to prevent loneliness and isolation.

Embrace Technology: Stay updated with technology to stay connected with loved ones and access resources that can improve your life.

Focus on the Present: Live in the present moment and cherish the beauty of the world around you.

Practice Contentment: Be grateful for what you have and find contentment in your circumstances.

Leave a Legacy: Think about the impact you want to leave on future generations and take steps to create a lasting legacy.

Embrace Your Mortality: Accept that your time on earth is limited and make the most of the time you have.

Celebrate Your Life: Reflect on your accomplishments and celebrate your life’s journey, no matter how small or big.

Epilogue: Preparing for the Journey Beyond

“Even before you get to the departure hall of life, be excited about the life hereafter,” Mrs. Fayomi encouraged. She emphasized the importance of spiritual readiness and living a life free from anger, unforgiveness, and bitterness. “Fear of death comes when one is not sure of where they will spend eternity. Like Abraham, be a friend of God. Be involved in church and God’s matters, and be prepared to travel light, completely empty, when your home call beckons.”

In her concluding remarks, Pst. (Mrs.) Fayomi highlighted the ultimate goal: living a triumphant life in old age while being expectant of eternal bliss with our Maker. “You can truly live a triumphant life in this terrestrial world and be expectant of eternal bliss in His heavenly kingdom. You will all finish strong and well in Jesus’ name!”

Pst. (Mrs.) Roseline Fayomi’s insights serve as a powerful guide for anyone seeking to make their later years the most rewarding and fulfilling part of their life’s journey.
