AMMC Coordinator Debunks Sewage Plant Collapse Rumors, Assures Public of Safety

The Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Chief Felix Amaechi Obuah, has refuted reports of a major sewage treatment plant collapse in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reassuring residents of the city’s safety.

Following an unannounced inspection of the Wupa treatment plant and Gousa dump site, Chief Obuah confirmed that all sections of the plant are functioning perfectly, with no breakdowns or leaks in the sewage system.

He praised the expertise of the Abuja Environmental Protection Board staff in waste management, highlighting the city’s high standards in maintaining critical infrastructure.

“Abuja is a city to be proud of, managed by experts. Residents should disregard the false reports and go about their normal activities with confidence that there is no leakage or threat of pollution,” he added.

Chief Obuah urged residents to disregard the false reports and continue their daily routines with confidence, attributing the publication to mischief makers aiming to create unnecessary panic.
