Wike Mourns with Minister of State Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Over Father’s Death

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, following the passing of her father, Alhaji Sani Baban Koko.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike described the loss as deeply painful and expressed sympathy to Dr. Mahmoud and the entire Baban Koko family.

“My heart went out to you when I heard of the death of your beloved father, Alhaji Sani Baban Koko,” Wike stated, noting that although he never had the opportunity to meet the late Alhaji Baban Koko, the virtues displayed by Dr. Mahmoud reflect the values he must have instilled.

“It is commonly said that by the quality of a product, one can judge the character of the manufacturer. Going by the personality of Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, I can conclude that Baba was a good man,” the Minister said.

Wike acknowledged the profound grief that accompanies the loss of a parent, particularly one who lived to the age of 74, and urged the family to find comfort in the universal reality of death.

He offered prayers for the deceased, saying, “May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) in His infinite mercies grant the deceased Al-Firdaus and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

Alhaji Sani Baban Koko passed away at the age of 74.
