The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has come out strongly to debunk reports of internal crisis and alleged diversion of relief funds, describing the claims as false, malicious and aimed at discrediting the Church.
In a statement issued yesterday, CAN President, Daniel Okoh, said the association has not received or managed any relief funds meant for persecuted Christians in Northern Nigeria, stressing that no money was missing.
“There is no split, no secession, and no division within CAN. We remain one united and indivisible body,” he declared.
The Christian body also took a swipe at Isaac Omolehin, founder of Word Assembly Ministry, Ilorin, accusing him of spreading unverified and dangerous allegations capable of causing disunity.
CAN further warned against dragging respected men of God like Enoch Adeboye, David Oyedepo and William Kumuyi into the controversy, saying such actions could mislead the public and inflame tensions.
The association issued a stern warning to those behind the claims to desist immediately or face legal action.
CAN urged Nigerians and the media to ignore the reports and rely only on official communication, reaffirming its commitment to unity, truth and service to the nation.
