The Nigerian Army has warned Nigerians against a fake recruitment publication circulating on social media, claiming that applications for its 92 Regular Recruitment Intake have commenced.
The Army said the publication was false and urged prospective applicants and members of the public to disregard it.
In a statement signed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Directorate of Recruitment, Captain AU Hammanga, and posted on its official X handle on Wednesday, the Army said it had not commenced the recruitment exercise.
“The publication is false and should be disregarded in its entirety,” the statement said.
The Army warned that recruitment information should only be obtained through its official communication channels, noting that it had an established procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities.
“The Nigerian Army maintains a clear and official procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities and will duly inform the public through its official channels once the portal for 92 Regular Recruitment Intake is formally opened,” the statement added.
The warning comes amid concerns that fraudsters may use the fake recruitment notice to deceive unsuspecting job seekers and demand money from applicants.
The Army said it remained committed to ensuring transparency and professionalism in all its recruitment exercises.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to transparency and professionalism in all recruitment processes,” it said.
It strongly advised prospective applicants to verify recruitment information through official Army platforms before submitting applications or making any payment.
The Army also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and ignore the circulating publication until an official announcement is made on the commencement of the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake.
