President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending about four weeks in Europe, with the President arriving in Lagos from Paris on Tuesday evening.
Tinubu touched down at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport aboard Nigerian Air Force One at about 6:22pm. However, journalists at the airport were restricted from taking photographs or video footage of the President’s arrival as the aircraft taxied to the terminal.
The President had departed Nigeria on August 30 for London before travelling to Paris, where he held engagements with French President Emmanuel Macron, including a dinner.
His return comes ahead of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, with Tinubu expected to participate in events surrounding the October 1 celebrations.
The President’s four-week stay in Europe had generated public interest, with his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, earlier saying Tinubu was hale and hearty and expected back in Nigeria this week.
Tinubu is also expected to resume his official engagements following his return to the country.
