PDP Mourns NAF Personnel Killed in Ondo Crash, Demands Full Probe

The Interim National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed grief over the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft crash in Ondo State, which reportedly claimed the lives of all 32 people on board.

The ATR-42 aircraft crashed near a naval base in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria, leaving the Nigerian Air Force and families of the personnel mourning.

In a statement issued on Monday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party commiserated with the NAF and families of the victims over the tragedy.

PDP National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, described the deaths as deeply painful, noting the sacrifices made by Nigerian service personnel toward the unity and survival of the country.

Turaki said the party shared in the grief of the Nigerian Air Force and the families of those who lost their lives.

“Our service personnel have given so much for the unity and survival of this country, and news of their deaths is deeply painful.

“On behalf of the PDP family, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and the families of the fallen. We pray that such tragedies do not recur,” he said.

The PDP also called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The opposition party said the investigation was necessary to determine the cause of the incident and provide answers to the bereaved families and the Nigerian public.

The party prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, while expressing sympathy with their colleagues, friends and loved ones mourning the victims.
