ADC to Tinubu: Where Are 176 Kaiama Abductees?… Says Every Nigerian Life Matters

…Demands Action on Borno, Zamfara, Benue, Kebbi Victims

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has challenged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prove that every Nigerian life matters by providing updates on the 176 residents of Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, who were abducted over five months ago and are yet to regain their freedom.

In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the opposition party said while the successful rescue of abductees in Oyo State was commendable, the Federal Government must not abandon hundreds of other victims still being held by kidnappers and insurgents across the country.

The party expressed concern that the Kaiama victims, abducted on February 3, 2026, have remained in captivity for more than 170 days, noting that families and residents recently staged a peaceful protest over what they described as government silence. According to the ADC, Nigerians deserve to know what concrete steps are being taken to secure the release of the abductees.

The party also drew attention to the recent abduction of 40 residents from 11 communities in Zamfara State, renewed killings in Benue State, the kidnapping of Kebbi State High Court Judge, Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, and continued insurgent attacks in Borno State, insisting that insecurity remains a major national emergency.

“Every successful rescue deserves celebration, but government must not create the impression that the value of a Nigerian life depends on where the victim comes from or whether the incident attracts national headlines,” the party stated, adding that equal compassion and urgency should be extended to all victims of violence.

The ADC urged President Tinubu to provide regular updates on efforts to rescue the Kaiama abductees, recover Justice Bunza, free victims in Zamfara and protect communities under attack in Borno, Benue and other troubled states. It also recalled the President’s recent assurance that insecurity in Northern Nigeria would soon be brought under control, saying Nigerians now expect concrete results rather than repeated promises.

The party maintained that leadership is best demonstrated by ensuring that no Nigerian is forgotten, irrespective of location, religion or ethnicity, urging the Federal Government to match its assurances with decisive action.
