CMD hails RCCG General Overseer’s intervention as boost for renal patients
Benin City — The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has taken delivery of three complete sets of dialysis machines donated by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye.
Chief Medical Director of UBTH, Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, who received the equipment in Benin City on Wednesday, commended the Adeboyes for the donation, saying the intervention would significantly complement government investments in the health sector.
The machines were presented to the hospital on behalf of the Adeboyes by Pastor Bode Olojede, representing His Love Foundation (HLF), the RCCG’s global Christian Social Responsibility arm.
Olojede said the foundation was committed to interventions in hunger, healthcare, education, rehabilitation, prison ministry and social enterprise.
He added that Pastor Adeboye and his wife had continued to support healthcare interventions across Nigeria, including the establishment of intensive care units and Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centres in teaching hospitals and other medical facilities.
The Federal Commissioner representing Edo State at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Rt. Hon. Engr. Victor Edoror, also commended the couple for supporting patients battling renal conditions.
Edoror, who joined the UBTH management to receive the medical equipment, said government alone could not address the country’s numerous healthcare challenges.
He urged other General Overseers and religious leaders across the country to emulate Adeboye’s philanthropic gesture by supporting efforts aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable Nigerians.
The former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly expressed gratitude to the RCCG General Overseer and his wife and prayed for their continued good health and long life.
