Alli Wins Oyo APC Governorship Ticket with 578,143 Votes

Senator Sarafadeen Alli has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State for the 2027 general elections after securing a landslide victory in the party’s primary.

Alli polled a commanding 578,143 votes to defeat his closest rivals in the exercise conducted across the 33 local government areas of the state. Senator Buhari came a distant second with 37,265 votes, while former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, garnered 19,193 votes.

The primary election was described by party officials as peaceful, transparent and well-organised, with widespread participation by delegates and party members.

Observers say the margin of victory underscores Senator Alli’s strong grassroots support and growing influence within the APC in Oyo State.

Reacting to the outcome, prominent businessman and Okanlomo Oodua/Bada Olubadan, Chief Dotun Sanusi, congratulated Alli on his emergence, describing it as a clear demonstration of the confidence reposed in his leadership.

Sanusi expressed optimism that the APC candidate has the capacity to deliver effective governance and drive meaningful development in the state if elected.

With the APC ticket secured, Senator Alli now becomes the party’s standard bearer for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, setting the stage for what political analysts predict will be a highly competitive race.
