Alliance Hospital is celebrating a significant achievement in its IVF program with the successful delivery of its first set of triplets. This landmark success comes just over a year after the hospital’s state-of-the-art IVF center was commissioned.
According to Dr. Christopher Otabor, Chief Medical Director of Alliance Hospital, the IVF program has achieved a remarkable 70% success rate, surpassing global averages of 35-40%. He shared the inspiring story of a woman from Canada who became pregnant after multiple failed attempts at IVF in her home country. Currently, the IVF center has nearly 15 ongoing pregnancies, with the birth of the triplets being a particularly joyous occasion.
Dr. Otabor attributed the success to the hospital’s investment in top-tier equipment and dedicated personnel. “Our commitment to excellence has led to superior performance, and we are proud to be making a difference in the lives of families,” he said.
In addition to IVF services, Alliance Hospital also performs complex surgeries, including hip replacements and spine surgeries, showcasing its broad medical capabilities.
To celebrate the birth of the triplets, Alliance Hospital presented the family with walkers and announced a scholarship program for the children. Each child will receive ₦100,000 annually for primary and secondary education and ₦300,000 annually for university education.
Dr. Mike Enokela, Head of the IVF Center, expressed his delight at the milestone, noting the increasing demand for IVF services due to rising infertility rates. He emphasized that the center has attracted clients from both Nigeria and abroad, with impressive success rates and a reputation for helping women conceive when other centers could not.
The IVF center also offers advanced services like pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) for couples at risk of genetic disorders, ensuring healthy pregnancies and fulfilling the desires of many families.
Dr. Enokela praised the hospital’s CMD for providing the enabling environment necessary for such success. “We are honored to be part of the journey, writing stories of joy and happiness for many families,” he concluded, celebrating the hospital’s role in transforming lives through its IVF program.
