AMAC Chairman Urges Nigerians to Pray for Peace, Unity During Sallah

Abuja, Nigeria – As Muslim faithful celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, the Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has called on Nigerians to pray for peace and unity in the country.

Speaking in Abuja while receiving Muslim faithful at his residence, Maikalangu congratulated them on the successful completion of Ramadan, describing the fasting period as a time of deep reflection, faith, and responsibility toward one another and Allah.

> “Ramadan is the month in which Muslims believe the Qur’an was revealed to Prophet Mohammed. This process reminds us of what we have in common as human beings and strengthens our collective efforts toward a united Nigeria,” Maikalangu stated.

Promoting Religious Harmony and Shared Values

The AMAC Chairman emphasized the shared values between Islam and Christianity, particularly fasting as a means of drawing closer to God.

> “This is a period that reminds us that the world we want to build and the changes we seek must begin in our hearts and communities,” he said.

Reiterating his commitment to fostering peace and good governance, Maikalangu called on citizens to embrace love, peace, and unity as fundamental pillars for national development.

> “In the light of the Sallah celebration, I wish to spread the message of love, peace, and unity among all citizens and residents of Abuja Municipal Area Council and the country at large,” he added.

Call for Prayers for National Leadership

According to the AMAC Chairman, peace is a key tool for development, creating opportunities for all. He urged Nigerians to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, to succeed in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

> “We should understand that we all have a responsibility to build a Nigeria that is more peaceful and secure. That is why we urge Muslims to use this period to pray for peace and unity among Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliation,” Maikalangu concluded.

Eid Mubarak to All Muslim Faithful!
