FCT MPWB Initiates Orientation for Intending Pilgrims

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja, is set to commence the first phase of education and orientation for intending pilgrims participating in this year’s Hajj.

Mallam Abubakar Adamu Evuty, the Director of the Board, announced that the orientation sessions are scheduled to take place on February 3rd and 4th, 2024, at the FCT Permanent Hajj camp near the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja. Islamic scholars have been mobilized for this exercise, aiming to equip intending pilgrims for a meaningful and acceptable Hajj experience.

The orientation will comprehensively cover Hajj rites and incorporate insights into new policies introduced by Saudi authorities and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for the upcoming Hajj season.

Director Evuty underscored the significance of educating intending pilgrims, particularly those embarking on the pilgrimage for the first time, about the recent policies implemented by the Saudi Arabian government. He encouraged their active participation in the programs organized by the Board to enhance their Islamic knowledge and ensure a fulfilling Hajj experience.

In addition, Mallam Evuty issued a warning that only intending pilgrims who have deposited a minimum of N4.5 million and above will be shortlisted for this year’s Hajj, in accordance with the registration deadline set by NAHCON. He urged those who are yet to submit completed application forms or international passports to expedite the process to facilitate the timely processing of their travel documents.
