The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mr Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has reaffirmed the Federal Civil Service’s commitment to national unity, good governance and improved public service delivery.
Abel stated this when he received a delegation from the Ife Traditional Council, representing the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.
The visit was to congratulate the HCSF on his recent appointment and convey the Ooni’s goodwill and best wishes.
Receiving the delegation, Abel expressed appreciation to the Ooni and members of the Ife Traditional Council for the gesture, describing Ile-Ife as the cradle of Yoruba civilisation and acknowledging the important role of traditional institutions in Nigeria’s socio-cultural development.
He said traditional institutions remained important stakeholders in preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage, promoting peace and unity, and advancing community development.
According to him, the Federal Civil Service would continue to engage constructively with traditional institutions in support of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Abel stressed that improved public service delivery, effective governance and resilient institutions required sustained collaboration, collective responsibility and a shared commitment to national development.
He also commended the Ooni for what he described as his fatherly, inclusive and visionary leadership, noting his contributions to the development and promotion of Nigeria’s interests within the country and in the diaspora.
The development was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Mrs Eno Olotu, Director, Press and Public Relations, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Her Regal Majesty, Olori Dr Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi, conveyed the Ooni’s warm regards to the HCSF and thanked him for the reception accorded the delegation.
Olori Ogunwusi described Abel as a purpose-driven and accomplished public servant, urging officers and staff of the Federal Civil Service to support his vision for the service.
She said sustainable institutional development could only be achieved through teamwork, unity of purpose and collective dedication.
The Olori expressed confidence in Abel’s capacity to provide transformative leadership and strengthen the Federal Civil Service in line with the aspirations of the present administration.
Other members of the delegation included the Onifegunwa of Ifegunwa, Oba Adedire Adewole Solomon, and Yeye Bobajiro Oodua, Dr Afolashade Shona-Aluko.
