A Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) bus was completely destroyed by fire on Tuesday afternoon along the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, but fortunately, no lives were lost or injuries reported, the company has confirmed.
The blaze erupted around 1:00 p.m. on the Obalende-to-Oshodi section, involving bus number 240057. Despite valiant attempts by passers-by and emergency teams to extinguish the flames, the vehicle was fully engulfed.
In an official statement, LBSL confirmed that all passengers and crew were promptly and safely evacuated, with zero casualties.
Managing Director and CEO of LBSL, Mr. Idowu Oguntona, announced that a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the cause of the incident.
“The safety of our passengers remains our utmost priority, and we take this incident very seriously,” Oguntona said. “We are grateful that no lives were lost and no injuries sustained.”
