Mr. Ebenezer Adurodija has officially taken over as the Permanent Secretary of the Kogi State Ministry of Information and Communications, succeeding Mr. Abdul Yakubu, the Acting Permanent Secretary.
The handover ceremony took place on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the State Secretariat Complex in Lokoja.
In his remarks, Mr. Adurodija expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for entrusting him with the role.
He also commended the Head of Civil Service, Pastor Elijah Evinemi, for overseeing a transparent and merit-based appointment process.
Additionally, Mr. Adurodija extended his appreciation to the Information Commissioner, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, for his leadership and pledged his unwavering commitment to advancing the Ministry’s goals.
He promised to focus on improving staff welfare and bringing positive change to the Ministry, with the support of both Governor Ododo and Commissioner Fanwo.
In his address to the Ministry’s staff, Mr. Adurodija emphasized the importance of dedication and hard work, cautioning against gossip and indolence. He encouraged everyone to collaborate effectively to achieve the Ministry’s objectives.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Acting Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abdul Yakubu, urged Mr. Adurodija to ensure smooth coordination within the Ministry, allowing for the effective implementation of government policies and the efficient management of resources.
Earlier, Alhaji Ademu Seidu, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kogi State Chapter, alongside Mr. Sunday Adeniyi, Director of Information Services, expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for Mr. Adurodija’s appointment and pledged their support to the new Permanent Secretary. Mallam Shuaibu Abubakar, Chairman of the Kogi Information Chapel, praised Mr. Adurodija’s dedication and wished him success in his new role.
Mr. Adurodija’s appointment marks a new chapter for the Kogi State Ministry of Information and Communications, with promises of progress and strengthened leadership under his tenure.
