The wife of the pastor in charge of Christ the Life Zone, Pst (Mrs) Patience Ilupeju has stressed the importance of natural remedies for maintaining optimal health. “The body has the power to heal itself if only we can allow it to do so,” she stated, underscoring the need for adequate knowledge of nature’s offerings to cure ailments effectively.
She made this known in her health tips tagged:”Natural Remedies” during the 2024 RCCG, FCT Province 7 Sister’s Convention converned by the wife of the Pastor in charge of FCT Province 7 with the theme:”The Triumphant Women of the Right Hand” on Saturday in Abuja.
Mrs. Ilupeju outlined the principles of natural remedies, which emphasize the use of body-friendly substances as therapeutic tools. “We should use healing agents that are relatively harmless to the human body so that when treating a disease, we do not cause additional harm,” she explained, criticizing the side effects often associated with conventional medicine.
Highlighting the benefits of local African herbs and foods, Mrs. Ilupeju praised the jute leaf, known as ewedu in Yoruba, for its myriad health benefits. “It is excellent for the elderly and children, supplying essential vitamins and minerals like calcium, potassium, and iron. It’s a superfood that prevents constipation and helps manage obesity,” she noted, calling it “a pharmacy on your plate.”
Mrs. Ilupeju provided a comprehensive list of other natural remedies, including cinnamon, lemon, garlic, and almonds, each with its own unique health benefits. She recommended cinnamon for its fat-burning properties, suggesting, “Steep half a tablespoon of cinnamon powder in water, add honey, and drink it before breakfast and bedtime for best results.”
Lemon juice, she advised, is another effective remedy for reducing belly fat. “Drink a glass of water with lemon juice and a pinch of salt every morning,” she suggested, noting its detoxifying and metabolism-boosting effects.
Garlic also featured prominently in her recommendations. “Chew 3-4 cloves of raw garlic in the morning followed by lemon water. This combination is highly effective in reducing belly fat,” she said, emphasizing garlic’s potent health benefits.
For those looking to manage their weight, Mrs. Ilupeju highlighted almonds and watermelon. “Almonds, rich in Vitamin E, keep you full for a long time, helping you eat less, while watermelon, which is 82% water, helps reduce cravings and is packed with Vitamin C,” she shared.
Further expanding on the benefits of natural foods, she recommended cucumbers for their hydrating properties and ability to prevent bad breath. “Cucumbers are 96% water and very low in calories. Adding them to your diet can help you achieve a flat tummy quickly,” she said.
Mrs. Ilupeju also highlighted the benefits of avocado and apple. “Avocado, with its high fiber content and healthy fats, helps reduce belly fat, while regular consumption of apples can help fight various diseases and contribute to fat reduction,” she advised.
In addition to these, she spoke about the benefits of cranberries, fish oil, peanuts, and green tea. “Cranberry juice, rich in organic acid, helps burn fat, while fish oil targets tummy fat. Peanut butter boosts metabolism, and green tea works as a detoxifier, burning excess body fat and making your skin glow,” she elaborated.
Mrs. Ilupeju, however , encouraged everyone to incorporate these natural remedies into their daily routines. “Nature has provided us with everything we need to maintain good health. By embracing these natural remedies, we can lead healthier and more fulfilling lives,” she affirmed, inspiring the congregation to explore the healing power of nature.
