Pastor Mrs. Moyomola Okemuyiwa, the wife of the Pastor in Charge of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) FCT Province 7, has emphasized the urgent need for spiritual revival within the Christian community to address the challenges of the modern world.
Highlighting the prevalence of armed robbery, kidnapping, stealing, ritualism, and various societal ills, she pointed out the increasing lukewarmness in Christian life, which she attributed to the works of the flesh rather than the Holy Spirit. “We need to go back to Bethel,” she asserted, referencing Galatians 5:5-7.
Pastor Mrs. Okemuyiwa made these remarks during a seminar titled “Holy Spirit Revive Us” at the Power Night Vigil, marking the commencement of the 2024 Sister’s Convention themed “Triumphant Women of the Right Hand.”
Emphasizing the current dispensation of the Holy Spirit, she said, “What is happening in Nigeria, it is only the Spirit of God that can give us directions.”
She outlined four key steps to receive the revival of the Holy Spirit: Acknowledge your sinful state and seek the Lord for cleansing and pardon; Admit your helplessness and inability to free yourself from the guilt and power of sin; Plead for the help of the Holy Spirit to revive you; and Strive for unity and be in one accord.
Concluding her message, Pastor Mrs. Okemuyiwa invoked the promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14, urging believers to humble themselves, pray, and turn from their wicked ways. “The Lord is waiting for us to call His name now,” she said, encouraging prayers to purge lukewarmness and ignite the fire of revival.
She warned that these are perilous times, with many believers spiritually slumbering. “It is the Spirit of God that will make you know the purpose of God concerning your life,” she added.
Discussing the need for revival, she mentioned signs of the end times, self-righteousness, and inward appearance as indicators that call for spiritual awakening and renewal.
