Tragic End: Former Konga CEO Nick Imudia Dies by Suicide

The e-commerce industry in Nigeria was thrown into shock and mourning following the tragic death of Nick Imudia, the former Chief Executive Officer of Konga, one of the country’s leading e-commerce giants. Imudia reportedly died by suicide on the evening of Tuesday, June 25, 2024, by jumping from the balcony of his apartment in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Before his death, Imudia made a call to his brother in the United States, giving him instructions on how to distribute his wealth. He also spoke to his young daughter, reassuring her that he would always be there for her. The nature of these calls has left friends, family, and associates grappling with the reasons behind his decision to take his own life.

According to a post on an online platform, TheWill, those close to Imudia are in disbelief, struggling to understand the circumstances that led to his tragic decision. Imudia, an indigene of the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, was previously married, but the marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Thursday. The case is currently under investigation, and further details are expected as the police continue their inquiries.
