2027: Adeleke Backs Tinubu’s Re-election, Dances at APC Campaign Council Inauguration

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, pledging to mobilise support for the president’s return to Aso Rock in 2027.

Adeleke made the declaration on Wednesday at the inauguration of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja, where he urged Nigerians to support the president and pray for the success of his administration.

The governor, popularly known for his energetic dance moves, later joined Tinubu in dancing and singing at the event, drawing cheers from attendees.

“I am the light, and the light is here. We will sing and dance back to Aso Rock after President Bola Tinubu’s re-election,” Adeleke declared.

He said he was at the event to demonstrate his support for Tinubu’s return to office, urging Nigerians across the country to rally behind the president.

“I am here to throw my weight behind Tinubu’s return to Aso Rock. Let us rise from every nook and corner to support the President. Let him come and complete the good work he has begun.

“I want you to continue to pray for Mr. President because if he succeeds, we all succeed. I know we will get there,” he said.

Adeleke’s dancing performance added a lively touch to the inauguration, with the governor displaying his trademark style as he sang alongside the president.

His declaration comes amid growing political consultations and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC had named Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo as state campaign coordinators in its revised Presidential Campaign Council.

Adeleke, who belongs to the Accord Party, was assigned to coordinate Tinubu’s campaign in Osun State, while Soludo, a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was designated to coordinate campaign activities in Anambra State.

Their inclusion in the campaign council reflects the ruling party’s efforts to secure support from political figures outside its ranks ahead of the presidential election.

APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, had said the party approached the governors and other opposition figures to seek their support for Tinubu’s re-election.

The revised campaign council also named Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT.

Tinubu is the chairman of the campaign council, while Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Yilwatda serve as vice-chairmen.

The inauguration, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, formally launched the expanded campaign structure as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
