THE Allied People’s Movement (APM) has unveiled a governance blueprint ahead of the 2027 general elections, promising to revive Nigeria’s struggling economy, tackle insecurity and deliver better governance if voted into power.
The party said its proposed policy framework is designed to stimulate economic growth, rebuild critical infrastructure, create jobs and restore public confidence in government.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Abubakar Yusuf, the APM said the blueprint contains strategies to revive key sectors of the economy, attract investment, promote industrialisation and improve public service delivery.
According to the party, a major focus of the blueprint is the overhaul of Nigeria’s security architecture to better protect lives and property while addressing terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes.
The APM also took a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that its economic and governance policies over the past decade have worsened poverty, unemployment, inflation and insecurity across the country.
The opposition party claimed that deteriorating infrastructure and rising living costs have placed millions of Nigerians under severe hardship, while worsening insecurity has continued to affect businesses and livelihoods.
It also expressed concern over the increasing migration of skilled Nigerians abroad, popularly known as the “Japa” phenomenon, saying the trend has depleted manpower in critical sectors such as healthcare and education.
The party further raised concerns over Nigeria’s growing debt profile, warning that future generations could bear the burden if borrowed funds are not prudently managed and tied to visible development projects.
Presenting its alternative agenda, the APM said its governance blueprint is anchored on people-centred leadership, economic diversification and transparent management of public resources.
It identified agriculture, oil and gas, power, manufacturing, housing, healthcare and education as priority sectors that would receive strategic investment to boost productivity, create employment and improve the quality of life for Nigerians.
The party also pledged to strengthen anti-corruption measures, promote accountability in public finance and implement policies that would encourage both local and foreign investments.
According to the statement, the APM remains committed to transparency, the rule of law, social justice and the protection of citizens’ rights.
The party added that the full details of its governance blueprint would be unveiled at a later date as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
