A former National Treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmed Yayari, has pledged to work “assiduously” for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Gombe State, Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, in the 2027 general election.
Yayari made the pledge in Gombe while receiving a delegation of APC stalwarts from Tumfure, Wuro Bobbo, NTA and other parts of Akko Local Government Area following his recent defection from the PDP.
The delegation described the former PDP national officer as a major political asset whose experience and grassroots network would strengthen the APC’s chances ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
They particularly highlighted his role as the former Director-General of the campaign organisation of ex-Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, describing his political experience as valuable to the party.
The APC members expressed confidence that Yayari’s decision to join the party and support Gwamna’s governorship ambition would boost its chances in the 2027 election.
They also said the areas represented by the delegation comprised 24 polling units, adding that their combined support could contribute significantly to the APC’s electoral strength.
Responding, Yayari declared his readiness to deploy his political experience and efforts towards ensuring Gwamna emerges victorious in the election.
“I am ready to work assiduously for the victory of Jamilu Gwamna as the next Governor of Gombe State,” Yayari said.
