KANO — The Kano North leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party leadership also issued a stern warning to members against anti-party activities and factionalism, saying those found working against the party or its candidates could face disciplinary measures, including suspension or expulsion.
The position was declared yesterday by the APC Zonal Chairman for Kano North Senatorial District, Hon. Abdullahi Magaji Lamba Bichi, who called on leaders, stakeholders and members across the zone to close ranks ahead of the 2027 polls.
Bichi declared that the zone’s commitment to the APC remained “absolute and unchanged”, stressing: “APC from top to bottom, and APC from bottom to top.”
Under the endorsement, the Kano North APC leadership urged members to support Tinubu for President, Yusuf for Governor of Kano State and Senator Barau for the Kano North senatorial seat.
The party also called for support for its candidates contesting seats in the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.
Bichi said party loyalty, discipline and unity would be critical to the success of the APC in the forthcoming elections, urging members to place collective party decisions above individual interests.
He warned that members who engage in anti-party activities, promote factionalism or work against APC candidates would face disciplinary action in accordance with the party’s constitution.
“Such actions may attract suspension or expulsion where warranted,” the zonal chairman warned.
The Kano North APC leadership said the position of the zone was being maintained under what it described as the “purposeful and unwavering leadership” of Senator Barau, whom it identified as the leader of the APC in the senatorial district.
Bichi therefore urged members to remain united and loyal to the party, saying the APC must enter the 2027 elections as a cohesive political force.
He called on party leaders and supporters to strengthen mobilisation across the district and work collectively towards the party’s objectives ahead of the polls.
