The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency of Taraba State, Alhaji Muktar Galadima, has donated a 35KVA transformer to Unguwar Ciki community in Ibi Local Government Area following a prolonged power outage.
Galadima presented the transformer to the community yesterday through the Director-General of his 2027 campaign organisation, Mr Zando Hoku.
The donation followed repeated appeals by residents after the breakdown of the community’s previous transformer, which had disrupted economic and social activities in the area.
Galadima said the prolonged blackout had adversely affected residents and businesses, prompting his intervention.
He also promised to support the provision of additional basic and social amenities in the constituency, stressing his commitment to addressing challenges confronting the people.
Receiving the transformer, the Sarkin Ibi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Danbawuro III, commended Galadima for responding to the plight of residents.
The monarch said the intervention would provide relief to residents who had endured the consequences of the prolonged blackout.
Danbawuro urged other indigenes of Ibi, particularly those in positions of influence, to emulate the gesture by supporting projects capable of improving the living conditions of residents.
He commended Galadima for responding to the community’s request within one week and prayed for God’s blessings upon him and others who contributed to the project.
Some residents described the donation as timely, expressing optimism that the transformer would restore electricity to a significant part of Ibi town.
The residents also urged voters in the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency to judge political leadership by tangible contributions to their communities rather than campaign promises.
