23-Year-Old Arrested With 64 Bottles of ‘Suck and Die’ in Bauchi

A 23-year-old suspected drug dealer, Aliyu Suleman, has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command with 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride and 17 pieces of rubber solution.

Suleman, a resident of Tudun Salmanu in Bauchi, was arrested by operatives of the Vehicle Crime Response Unit during an intelligence-led operation at Bayan Gari in the Bauchi metropolis at about 5pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The command disclosed the arrest in a statement issued on Wednesday by its spokesperson, Nafiu Habib.

According to the statement, the suspect was intercepted during the operation and subjected to a search, which led to the recovery of the substances.

“The suspect was intercepted during a routine intelligence-led operation. Upon search, the following exhibits were promptly recovered from the suspect: 64 bottles containing Methylene Chloride, locally referred to as ‘Suck and Die’, and 17 pieces of Rubber Solutions,” the statement said.

The police said the recovered substances had been seized and registered as exhibits, while the suspect remained in custody and was cooperating with investigators.

The command added that Suleman would be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.

Reacting to the arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating the distribution and abuse of harmful substances across the state.

The CP directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to intensify surveillance and operations targeting networks involved in the sale and abuse of illicit drugs and other harmful substances.

The command also urged parents, guardians and community leaders to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely information.

“The fight against drugs and substance abuse requires a collective approach,” the statement added.
