Wike Initiates 30-Kilometer Road Project to Propel FCT’s Renewed Hope Agenda

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, is poised to kick off a substantial infrastructure development project in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope mandate. On February 1, 2024, Wike will initiate the construction of 5-kilometer roads in each of the six Area Councils within the FCT.

The ceremonial launch will commence in Gwagwalada Area Council, focusing on the Paikon Kore – Ibwa road. Subsequent road constructions include the Gaba-Tokula road in Bwari Area Council, set to be flagged off on February 2, 2024, and the Garage Junction – to LEA Secretariat road in Kuje Area Council, scheduled for initiation on February 5, 2024.

In Kwali Area Council, attention will shift to the construction of the Yangoji-Sukuku Ebo road. Simultaneously, an access road featuring a two-span river bridge over the Naharati River-Ukya is slated for construction in Abaji Area Council.

Within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), a temporary access road linking Saburi 1 and two communities from the ONEX to the old Keffi road near Dei Dei will be developed.

Upon completion, these ambitious road projects, totaling 30 kilometers, are expected to significantly enhance socio-economic activities across all six Area Councils. The initiative highlights the commitment to infrastructure development as a pivotal element in advancing the socio-economic well-being of FCT residents, aligning with the overarching goals of the Renewed Hope mandate.
