Tinubu’s Administration Delivers: Vice President’s Residence Commissioned

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima, has officially commissioned the long-awaited Vice President’s residence, marking a significant achievement in the administration’s commitment to overcoming obstacles and fulfilling promises.

This state-of-the-art structure, completed after 14 years, stands as a symbol of dedication to effective governance.

President Tinubu’s administration emphasizes accountability, transparency, and good governance, striving to build a nation Nigerians can be proud of. The completion of this project showcases these values in action.

FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike, praised as a “force of nature” by President Tinubu, played a crucial role in delivering this project. His commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficient resource management has been exemplary.

Originally awarded in 2010 at a cost of 7 billion naira and abandoned in 2015, the project was completed within a year under President Tinubu’s leadership, with a revised budget of 21 billion naira.

Wike expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his unwavering commitment and lauded Julius Berger, the contractors, for their efficiency and reliability.

“The new residence offers a comfortable and secure environment for the Vice President to work and live,” Wike stated, humorously noting the comprehensive amenities.

He also warned Sectraco, the contractor responsible for maintaining street lights on Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way, that lapses in their duties would result in losing future contracts with the FCT.

Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, highlighted the significance of the occasion, stating, “Today’s event demonstrates sheer will and determination to succeed where others failed. It is a testament to what we can achieve with the right support and dedication.”

Engr. Shehu Hadi, Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), detailed the complex, which includes 15 blocks: the main building, offices for the Second Lady and security personnel, places of worship, staff quarters, utility facilities, recreational areas, and fortified landscaping.

He expressed pride in presenting the project for commissioning and thanked the FCDA staff and management for their hard work.

The completion of the Vice President’s residence marks a significant milestone in providing a conducive work environment for leaders. The sophisticated facilities and security features underscore the government’s commitment to excellence and accountability.

This achievement stands as a testament to the administration’s determination to deliver on its promises and foster effective governance.
