Protect Our Heritage: Uhonmora Union Warns Against School Land Grab

Union Worldwide issued a stern warning over the weekend: hands off the Uhonmora Secondary Commercial School land!

The union’s president, Comrade Ikharo Attah, sounded the alarm during the organization’s inauguration congress, where new executives were sworn in to lead the association for the next three years.Attah’s warning came after a visit to the school on Friday, where he and other union leaders met with the principals of the senior and junior secondary classes.

They were shocked to see clear signs of encroachment and pressure on the school’s borders. “We will not tolerate any further encroachment on the school land,” Attah declared.

“Those who claim the land doesn’t extend to the main road are misinformed. We know the history of this land, and we will protect it for future generations.

“The union’s warning was echoed by Honourable Blessing Agbebaku, Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, who promised to support infrastructural development in the school.

Agbebaku was shocked by the state of disrepair in some buildings during his visit last year and vowed to ensure a conducive learning environment for the students.

The union’s strong stance and the speaker’s commitment to action send a clear message: the Uhonmora Secondary Commercial School land is off-limits to encroachers. The community is united in its determination to protect this vital educational institution for generations to come.”
