Tinubu’s Return in 2027 Assured, Says Abbas

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, on Wednesday declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 was “guaranteed,” citing what he described as remarkable achievements recorded by the administration across key sectors of the economy.

Abbas spoke in Abuja during a gathering of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, where party leaders reaffirmed support for President Tinubu ahead of the next general election.

The Speaker said the administration’s performance over the past three years had strengthened public confidence in the APC and attracted more political actors into the ruling party.

“The performance of Mr. President over the last three years has brought about phenomenal development across all sectors in this country,” Abbas said.

According to him, even critics of the APC in the 2023 elections had begun identifying with the party due to the administration’s policies and programmes.

“No wonder the gates of the APC were opened and so many stakeholders took advantage and came in. Even the doubting Thomases who did not believe in the APC in 2023 are now singing the gospel of the APC,” he stated.

Abbas expressed confidence that Nigerians would overwhelmingly return Tinubu for a second term in 2027.

“I have no iota of doubt that if there is one single person we can single out in this country today and say with precision, guarantee and confidence that his election is guaranteed, it is Mr. President,” he said.

“He has done so much for the people of this country, and the people are waiting patiently for January 2027 to show him their love and support by voting him in again for a second term,” he added.

The Speaker further praised Tinubu’s leadership style, arguing that the president demonstrated unusual preparedness from the onset of his administration.

“The way and manner Mr. President has led this country within the last three years gives the impression to many that he had been president of this country before,” Abbas noted.

“Anyone who comes into government for the first time will spend the first two to three years in trial and error, trying to understand the problems of the country. But our president, from day one, was bold and courageous not only in identifying the key issues but also relentless in pursuing solutions,” he said.

Abbas maintained that the current support rallying around Tinubu signalled stronger victories ahead for both the president and the APC.

“This ceremony we are experiencing today is the beginning of a very good story that will not only come to Mr. President in January 2027, but to the entire APC family,” he stated.

He prayed for continued wisdom, good health and strength for the president in steering the affairs of the country.
