Tragedy As British-Nigerian Singer Talay Riley Stabbed To Death In London

 

Popular British-Nigerian singer and songwriter,Talay Riley , has been killed in a stabbing incident in East London, sparking a murder investigation by police.

Talay, whose real name was Mark Yinka Orabiyi, was attacked on Friday morning on Pankhurst Avenue in Silvertown. Emergency responders rushed to the scene but were unable to save the 35-year-old musician.

Police homicide detectives have since launched an investigation into the killing.

Confirming the tragedy, the singer’s family described his death as a devastating loss.

“It is with overwhelming sadness that we confirm that Mark ‘Yinka’ Orabiyi, professionally known as Talay Riley, passed away yesterday morning,” the family said in a statement.

They described him as a Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling songwriter and artist whose talent, kindness and generosity touched many lives.

Talay, the brother of music producer , built a successful career in the music industry spanning more than a decade. He secured a publishing deal at the age of 18 and later signed with a major record label after featuring on a hit single by British rapper Chipmunk.

In an emotional tribute, Scribz Riley said his brother was more than family, describing him as a mentor, inspiration and a light to many people.

“My heart is shattered. This doesn’t feel real. Just before he went to sleep, we spoke about the future and everything we still had left to do. I never imagined that would be our last conversation,” he wrote.

Tributes have continued to pour in from across the entertainment industry, with leading British music stars, including and , mourning the late singer.

Talay was widely respected for his contributions to R&B music and songwriting, leaving behind a legacy that fans and colleagues say will not be forgotten.
