APM Hails Security Forces, Makinde Over Rescue of Kidnapped Oyo Pupils, Teachers

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has applauded security agencies and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the operation as a huge victory against criminality.

The party said the safe return of the victims has ended weeks of fear, anxiety and uncertainty for their families, schools and Nigerians who had prayed for their release.

In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Abubakar Yusuf, APM commended the military, the Nigeria Police Force and local intelligence operatives for what it described as their professionalism, resilience and coordinated efforts in securing the victims’ freedom.

The party also praised Governor Makinde for providing effective leadership and working closely with security agencies throughout the rescue operation.

According to the party, the governor’s prompt response and unwavering support for security operations contributed significantly to the successful outcome.

APM, however, urged the Federal Government and state governments not to relent in the fight against insecurity, stressing that schools across the country must be adequately protected from attacks.

It called for stronger intelligence gathering, improved surveillance and faster emergency response around schools, particularly those in vulnerable communities.

“No child should be denied access to education because of insecurity, while teachers must be able to carry out their duties without fear for their lives,” the party said.

The party expressed solidarity with the rescued pupils, teachers and their families, praying for their speedy recovery from the trauma of their ordeal.

It also reaffirmed its support for sustained efforts by security agencies to rid the country of kidnappers and other criminal elements threatening lives and education.
