Kidnap Victims: Galadima Hails Military Over Rescue of 18 in Taraba

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, TPL Mukhtar Usman Galadima, has praised the military and other security agencies for rescuing 18 kidnapped victims in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Galadima, in a statement reacting to the rescue, described the operation as a major boost to efforts to restore peace and protect residents in communities affected by kidnapping and other criminal activities.

He specifically commended troops of Sector 3 deployed in Ibi for their swift response to reports of kidnapping at Kwatan Bajji in the early hours of August 18, which resulted in the rescue of the 18 victims.

The PDP candidate said the successful operation should reassure residents of Wukari/Ibi that security agencies remain committed to protecting lives and confronting criminals operating in the area.

He urged the rescued victims and their families to remain hopeful, while calling on security agencies to sustain and intensify operations in vulnerable communities across the constituency and Taraba State.

Galadima, however, said more needed to be done to prevent future attacks, calling for improved cooperation and intelligence-sharing among the military, police and other security agencies.

According to him, effective collaboration would enable security agencies to detect threats early, track criminal networks and disrupt their operations before they strike.

He also called for stronger legislation and increased government support to improve the intelligence-gathering and operational capabilities of the nation’s security agencies.

Galadima said security agencies must move beyond reacting to kidnapping and other violent crimes after they occur and develop stronger systems for anticipating and preventing attacks.

He advocated improved intelligence infrastructure, modern surveillance equipment and sustained investment in the welfare and operational capacity of security personnel.

The candidate also urged residents of Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information about suspicious activities.

He appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders, youths and other residents to work closely with security personnel, stressing that early information could help prevent attacks and save lives.

Galadima further urged security agencies to protect credible informants and strengthen community-based intelligence networks.

While commending the Federal Government for its support for security operations, he stressed that sustained investment remained necessary to achieve lasting peace in Taraba State.

He expressed optimism that stronger cooperation between communities and security agencies, improved intelligence and greater government support would help reduce kidnapping and other forms of criminality in Wukari, Ibi and other vulnerable areas.

Galadima congratulated the 18 rescued victims and their families, urging security forces to maintain the momentum until all criminal elements operating in the area are brought to justice.
