Alake, Nasarawa Governor Strengthen Collaboration on Mining Sector Development

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, commended Nasarawa state’s commitment to mineral resource development during a meeting with Governor Abdullahi Sule. Alake praised the Governor’s support for the construction of the Lithium factory in the state, emphasizing the collaborative efforts between Nasarawa and the Federal Government in advancing solid minerals development.

Governor Abdullahi Sule reciprocated the appreciation, highlighting the Minister’s role in facilitating mining licenses for gold, tin, and lithium in Nasarawa state. He provided updates on the progress of the Lithium factory and discussed the ministry’s efforts in securing mining sites and advancing the mining sector nationally.

In a broader context, Dr. Alake addressed the recent Ibadan explosion incident and expressed caution in attributing a specific cause until a thorough forensic analysis is completed. He revealed the establishment of a Federal Executive Council (FEC) committee dedicated to coordinating security around natural resources, including minerals, forests, and the marine economy.

The Governor’s entourage included former Governor Tanko Al-Makura, Attorney-General of Nasarawa State, Abdulkarim Kana, among others. The collaborative efforts between the Minister and the Governor underscore the commitment to leveraging solid minerals for economic development and ensuring the responsible and secure extraction of resources.
