Benue Killings: Olofu Urges Urgent Action After Fresh Attacks

ABUJA — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senatorial Candidate for Benue South, Dr. David Olofu, has called for urgent and decisive action following fresh attacks in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State that left at least nine people dead.

Olofu, reacting to the incidents in Otukpo-Nobi community in Okete District and Akpachi-Ugboju, described the killings as tragic and unacceptable, warning that continued violence threatens the safety of residents and stability of the region.

“Every necessary effort must be mobilised to secure our communities and preserve the sanctity of human life,” Olofu said in a statement on Sunday.

He urged both the Federal Government and the Benue State Government to strengthen security measures and ensure that perpetrators are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.

The ADC chieftain stressed that the recurring attacks across Benue South require coordinated and sustained security interventions to protect lives and property.

Olofu also extended condolences to the families of victims, noting that the loss of lives has deepened fears among affected communities.

“We must act swiftly to prevent further bloodshed and restore confidence among our people,” he added.

He reaffirmed his solidarity with the people of Otukpo and called on residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to promote lasting peace.
