The Presiding Bishop of Sword of the Spirit Ministries and National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, will mark his 70th birthday with a grand thanksgiving service in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The birthday celebration, which is expected to attract prominent Pentecostal leaders, clergy, government officials, family members, friends and well-wishers from across Nigeria and beyond, will hold at Cornerstone City, Kilometer 22, off the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway.
According to a statement by the Media Bureau of Sword of the Spirit Ministries, the birthday activities will climax a 10-day programme organised to celebrate the life, ministry and contributions of the renowned cleric.
The programme will begin with the annual Holy Ghost Convention of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, scheduled for Sunday, August 30, to Sunday, September 6.
A Night of Tributes will follow on Monday, September 7, while the grand finale, the 70th birthday Thanksgiving Service, will hold on Tuesday, September 8.
The statement said the events were designed to celebrate what it described as “the grace of God” upon Bishop Oke and his decades of service to the Christian faith.
It described the celebrant as “a prominent figure in Nigeria’s Pentecostal movement for decades, an educationist and a globally recognised cleric committed to preaching the undiluted Word of God and raising a generation of Christian leaders.”
The ministry said the milestone was not merely about the passage of seven decades but an opportunity to celebrate Bishop Oke’s impact on the church and society.
The statement added that his ministry had contributed significantly to the advancement of the gospel in Nigeria and other parts of the world.
It said the annual Holy Ghost Convention would provide the opening platform for the celebration, bringing together worshippers and Christian faithful for worship, teaching, prayer and spiritual renewal.
The Night of Tributes on September 7 will also provide an opportunity for family members, friends, colleagues, church leaders and associates to reflect on Bishop Oke’s life, ministry and contributions to Christianity.
The statement said the birthday thanksgiving service would provide an opportunity for Bishop Oke, his family and members of the ministry to appreciate God for seven decades of life and service.
It added that the celebration would draw participants from the Sword of the Spirit Ministries’ branches in Nigeria and abroad, as well as Christian leaders and other distinguished guests.
