Davido Targets 2027 Grammys with Multiple Entries

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has submitted multiple entries for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, raising hopes of another shot at music’s biggest international honours.

The submissions reportedly include his sixth studio album, Oriade, and several songs entered across major categories, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

The development was disclosed on Tuesday by Grammy-focused platform, The Grammy Guru, through its X account.

Davido’s album, Oriade, was reportedly submitted for consideration in four categories: Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Album Cover.

His hit song, B4 B4, featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, was entered for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

Another collaboration, Nakupenda, featuring TxC, Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, was submitted for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

Davido’s Le Show, featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, was also entered for Best African Music Performance, while I Know Who I Be, featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, was submitted for Best Music Video.

The submissions come as the Recording Academy’s first-round voting for the 2027 Grammys runs from October 12 to 22.

Nominees for the 69th edition of the awards are expected to be announced on November 16, while the ceremony is scheduled for February 7, 2027.

Davido previously earned Grammy nominations at the 66th edition in 2024 for his album Timeless and the songs Unavailable and Feel.

Although submissions do not guarantee nominations, the reported entries underline the singer’s continued push for recognition on the global music stage.
