ABUJA — Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, Ita Solomon Enang, has personally handed a diplomatic visa to Germany’s Ambassador-designate to Nigeria, Stefan Roessel, ahead of his assumption of duty in Abuja.
Enang received Roessel at the Embassy of Nigeria in Berlin and personally presented the diplomatic visa processed by the Nigerian Mission for the incoming German envoy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this in information signed by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, following the meeting between the two diplomats.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the Nigerian and German representatives to discuss a shared vision for deepening and modernising the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The discussions covered trade and investment, education, culture, innovation, regional peace and security, and people-to-people relations.
Enang encouraged Roessel to engage widely across Nigeria during his forthcoming assignment and experience the country’s cultural diversity, economic opportunities, youthful energy and growing potential.
The Nigerian ambassador also urged the incoming envoy to promote a balanced and factual understanding of Nigeria.
Roessel expressed enthusiasm about his forthcoming assignment and his commitment to exploring new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between Nigeria and Germany.
The meeting marked an important moment ahead of Roessel’s assumption of duty in Abuja and reflected the shared commitment of both countries to building a stronger, more dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership.
