Fourth Evacuation Flight Brings 282 Nigerians from South Africa

ABUJA — A fourth evacuation flight conveying 282 Nigerian returnees from South Africa is expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The flight, operated by Air Peace, is carrying a total of 284 passengers, including 12 infants, alongside two government officials.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, confirmed the details of the operation, noting that the figure of returnees excludes accompanying officials.

“The expected time of arrival of the 4th evacuation flight from South Africa today operated by Air Peace at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos is 7.30pm,” he said.

He added that the passenger manifest comprises 272 adults and 12 infants, bringing the total onboard to 284, with 282 identified as returnees.

The latest evacuation is part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to facilitate the safe return of Nigerians abroad, particularly in response to evolving situations requiring consular support and emergency repatriation.
