Godswill Obioma NECO Registrar Assassinated in Niger

The Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO) Professor Godswill Obioma has been killed.

Unconfirmed sources said he was strangled to death by gunmen suspected to be assassins.

His wife, Elizabeth Obioma, confirmed the incident on Tuesday morning saying “the assassins came in and killed him and left without taking anything.”

She told an online newspaper, that her husband had just returned to Minna from Abuja when the armed men attacked him.

The police is yet to speak about the incident as at the time of filling this report.

Mr Obioma, 67, was appointed head of NECO on May 14, 2020.

His death came barely 48 hours after Ahmed Gulak, a top politician of the ruling APC, was killed in Owerri, Imo State.
