It Takes Me 8yrs To Produce Drug For Treatment Of Diabetic Ulcer- Doc. Otiko

United States-based Nigerian Medical Doctor, Christopher Ayo Otiko, unveiled the drug “TETRACYTE” for the treatment of diabetic ulcers in Nigeria, sharing insights into the eight-year process of its discovery from 2008 to 2016.

At a media interaction in Abuja, Dr. Otiko expressed his commitment to making TETRACYTE widely accessible in Nigeria, highlighting its international acclaim as ten times more effective than existing alternatives.

The Podiatric Specialist, with nearly 20 years of medical experience as a foot and ankle surgeon, shared his satisfaction with positive responses received during engagements with Nigerian government agencies. Dr. Otiko conveyed his intention to ensure affordability, stating, “It is not all about the money at this point. I can use the money that I make in the United States to subsidize the cost so that almost everybody in Nigeria can afford it.”

As the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Medical Director of ViaDerma Inc, Dr. Otiko emphasized the drug’s potential benefits for conflict areas, especially in the North East, where federal troops could benefit significantly.

During engagements with top officials at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, Dr. Otiko expressed optimism about the drug’s potential impact on healing wounds, burns, and preventing amputations. TETRACYTE has received medical certification as the world’s most potent drug for diabetic ulcer treatment, healing ten times faster than available alternatives.

The drug’s efficacy has already been demonstrated in some cases in Nigeria, with the United States Drugs Agency endorsing its remarkable healing properties. Dr. Otiko’s efforts underscore a commitment to improving healthcare and addressing critical medical challenges in Nigeria.
