Nigerian filmmaker Josh Olaoluwa has won the Best Short Film award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs), marking a significant milestone in his career and drawing attention to international creative exchange programmes.
Olaoluwa is an alumnus of the Global Media Makers programme, a U.S. government-supported initiative that connects filmmakers worldwide with leading professionals in the American entertainment industry.
The programme, launched in 2016, focuses on mentorship, skills development and cross-cultural collaboration. It has supported emerging filmmakers by strengthening local film industries and fostering international professional networks.
