Kebbi Gov Approves N2.11bn Gratuities, Death Benefits For 772 Retirees, Families

 

BIRNIN KEBBI – Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved the release of N2.11 billion for the payment of gratuities and death benefits to retired workers, contract staff and families of deceased public servants across the state.

The approval covers retirees from the state civil service, Local Government Service and Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs), reaffirming the governor’s commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Head of Service, Malami Shekare, and signed by the Director of Administration, Rashidu Muhammad Bala.

According to the statement, a total of 772 beneficiaries will receive the payments, which cover gratuities and death benefits for the period between September 16, 2025, and January 15, 2026.

The beneficiaries include retired state and contract staff, retirees from local government councils and the Local Government Education Authorities, as well as families of deceased public servants entitled to death benefits.

The state government said the approval reflects Governor Idris’ determination to ensure the prompt payment of retirement benefits and improve the welfare of workers, retirees and the families of deceased employees.

The administration reiterated its commitment to settling outstanding entitlements as part of efforts to enhance the living conditions of public servants and strengthen confidence in the state’s pension system.
