…Police Boss Prays for Bereaved Families, Reaffirms Security Agencies’ Solidarity
Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has paid a condolence visit to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, following the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft crash that claimed 25 lives.
Disu conveyed the condolences of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Friday, October 9, 2026, expressing solidarity with the Air Force leadership, personnel and families of those who died in the tragedy involving the NAF 931 aircraft.
According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu, the visit was aimed at commiserating with the Air Force over the painful loss of its personnel.
During the meeting, the police chief expressed sympathy with the bereaved families, colleagues and associates of the deceased, acknowledging the grief caused by the incident.
He also offered prayers for strength and comfort for the families as they cope with the loss of their loved ones.
Disu used the visit to reaffirm the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining strong relationships with sister security agencies, particularly during difficult moments involving the loss of personnel.
He stressed the importance of unity, mutual support and inter-agency cooperation among Nigeria’s security institutions.
The police chief said the Force stood in solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force as it mourned the deceased personnel, whose service and sacrifices were recognised by their colleagues and the nation.
The condolence visit underscored the importance of cooperation among security agencies and the need to support one another in times of tragedy.
