IBADAN, August 17, 2026 — Member of the House of Representatives and Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Action Peoples Movement (APM), Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, has fulfilled his ₦2 million pledge to the Eruwa Muslim Community (ERMUC), honouring a commitment made during the community’s third Ileya Get-Together lecture.
The pledge was made ahead of the programme, which was held on May 30, 2026, at the Islamic Primary School, Sango, Eruwa, with the theme, “The Importance of Brotherhood in Islam.”
According to the organisers, the fulfilment of the pledge underscores Odidiomo’s support for community-driven initiatives and his relationship with religious and grassroots institutions.
Odidiomo was unable to attend the gathering personally because he was in Saudi Arabia performing Umrah at the time. However, his absence did not affect the commitment he had made to the Muslim community, as the pledged ₦2 million has now been redeemed.
The third Ileya Get-Together lecture brought together Muslim scholars, traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders and members of the Eruwa Muslim community.
The organisers described the fulfilment of the pledge as an example of what they characterised as Odidiomo’s “promise and fulfilment” approach to public service.
They argued that the credibility of political representation should be measured not only by commitments made at public gatherings but also by whether such commitments are ultimately honoured.
The guest lecturer at the event was Ustadh Abdkabir Abdul Wahid Adelakun, Chief Imam of Ajia Mosque, Eruwa, while Chief Kolawole Sheu Adedeji served as chairman of the occasion.
Fadilat Shaykh Dr. Bilal Shitt, Grand Chief Imam of Eruwa Land, served as the spiritual father of the event.
Odidiomo’s latest gesture comes as he seeks the Oyo South senatorial seat on the platform of the APM, while continuing his engagement with communities and grassroots stakeholders in the constituency.
