The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ratified its nationwide congresses and reaffirmed full readiness for its forthcoming National Convention, calling on members to remain united and committed to the party’s collective goals.
This formed part of resolutions reached at the party’s 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by NEC Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, and Secretary, Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, the committee expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of Ward, Local Government Area (LGA), State, and Zonal Congresses across the country.
The NEC commended party leaders, electoral committees, stakeholders, and members for their discipline, transparency, and adherence to due process during the exercises.
The committee also reviewed the ongoing electronic registration (e-registration) of members, describing it as a major step toward building a credible, technology-driven membership database.
Members nationwide were urged to actively participate in the exercise to further strengthen the party’s structure.
On the upcoming National Convention, the NEC reaffirmed the zoning arrangement for national elective positions, stressing the need to uphold equity, fairness, inclusiveness, and national balance.
It noted that the sale of nomination forms has commenced, advising aspirants to strictly adhere to approved guidelines and timelines.
“All relevant organs and committees are directed to ensure seamless coordination for a successful, credible, and transparent exercise,” the communiqué stated.
The convention, themed “A Convention of Inclusiveness, Unity and Renewal,” is expected to serve as a major platform for repositioning the party.
Reiterating the supremacy of the party, the NEC urged members to remain disciplined and focused on the collective interest of the PDP.
It expressed confidence in the party’s growing strength and readiness to provide purposeful leadership and direction for Nigerians.
