Katsina, Nigeria — Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has carried out an unscheduled visit to Matazu town and surrounding communities in Katsina State, expressing satisfaction with improved security presence and relative calm in the area.
The low-profile inspection, conducted on Tuesday evening, followed a security briefing with the Theatre Commander, Major General W. B. Idris, and aligns with a Presidential directive to strengthen security operations in vulnerable communities.
During the visit, Radda toured Matazu town and neighbouring communities including Sayaya, Mazoji, Fafawa, Nasarawan Kalgo, and Tashar Icce, where he observed residents going about their daily activities peacefully.
The governor noted that the visible presence of military personnel and other security agencies across key locations reflected intensified efforts to curb insecurity in the region.
“We are encouraged by the level of coordination and deployment of our security forces. The fact that residents are freely going about their lawful activities is a positive sign,” Radda said.
He also inspected the Mazoji–Dutsinma corridor, where he observed continuous patrols and strategic positioning of security operatives along critical routes.
The governor commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their professionalism, sustained patrols, and proactive measures, describing the development as a step toward restoring lasting peace in Katsina State.
Radda reiterated his administration’s commitment to working closely with security stakeholders to ensure the protection of lives and property across all communities.
