Katsina, Nigeria — Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has visited Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, following her rescue from abductors by Nigerian Army troops.
The governor, accompanied by the Director General of the Media Directorate, Maiwada Danmalam, paid the visit after a successful military operation on Monday secured her freedom.
Hajiya Amina was rescued during a coordinated operation by troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, who engaged suspected bandits in what officials described as a swift and professional response.
Governor Radda commended the Nigerian Army for what he called a display of courage, discipline and dedication in carrying out the rescue mission.
“We thank the officers for their professionalism and commitment in ensuring the safe rescue of the victim,” the governor said during the visit.
He praised the troops for their bravery, noting that their actions reflect the determination of security forces to protect lives and restore confidence in affected communities.
Radda added that the conduct of Operation FANSAN YANMA personnel demonstrates “the kind of courage and professionalism that gives hope to the people of Katsina State.”
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s support for security agencies operating in the state, stressing the importance of continued collaboration in addressing insecurity.
The rescued victim is currently receiving medical attention at the Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina.
